Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a precise and light pressure massage therapy technique that works on the lymphatic vessels. This gentle technique rhythmically stimulates and enhances the flow of lymph throughout the body by a manual stretching and release of the skin as performed by skilled, certified therapists.
This will help remove metabolic wastes, toxins, bacteria and foreign substances from the tissues by increasing lymph flow, reduce puffiness and enhance the function of the immune system.

Pregnancy Massage
Pre-Natal Massage.
This therapeutic massage focuses on the needs of the expecting mother as her body goes through the various changes of pregnancy. This massage will help to relieve stress on weight bearing joints, reduce swelling and promote overall relaxation all while resting comfortably in our pregnancy pillows.

Hot Stone Massage

As most of you know, I've been at this a long time and well I thought the time was now to take all my favorite's things and put them into one really great experience for you!
This will be an interlude from your day to day, a pause in time to rest and heal.

Reflexology
Using ancient techniques this treatment restores balance and harmony to the whole body through a relaxing massage of the feet. Stimulation of pressure points in the feet help to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation and restore the body to optimum health.
This is a 60 minute session, however, you can opt for a shorter amount of time or combine with the therapeutic massage treatment. Please email us for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
You will need to fill in the health history form before you arrive. It will be sent to you by email once you book your appointment.
If you can't do it ahead we do have a paper form in the clinic or we can provide you with an IPAD to complete it electronically. This will require more time, so you will need to arrive 15-20 minutes early. We don't want you to lose time on the table.
Do you offer direct billing to Insurance?
We are set up to direct bill with Blue Cross, Green Shield/Provider Connect & the Telus Portal, which is comprised of over 23 different companies. You can fill in the direct billing form HERE to see if you are eligible, or email us to discuss details. ottawa@myobalance.ca
What should I expect from my first massage treatment?
Please arrive 10 -15 minutes before your first appointment. This will allow time to discuss your health history and customize a treatment plan for your current needs. Arriving on time means we get you on the table on time so you get the hands on work you booked in for. After the intake, the technique and approach will be explained and we will begin your massage. We will communicate throughout the massage to make sure you are comfortable with the pressure.
Is there parking close to the clinic?
Yes there is ample parking close to the clinic and clients never seem to have a problem finding a spot! If you didn't walk, cycle or take public transit then you'll want to check out the parking options below.

What is your gift card, cancellation & missed appointment policy?
BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT: A credit card is now required to reserve your spot. It will be stored in your file in our secure system. The online booking system will prompt you at your first booking, next booking or we will ask you if you book in person. Nothing will be charged to this card unless you don't show up for your massage or cancel with less then 24 hours notice. We will contact you by email before the charge so you are aware of the exact amount and a receipt will be provided. By proceeding with the booking you are agreeing to our booking, cancellation and missed appointment policies. Please read the details below.
We are a busy clinic and require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment as the time you booked is not available to other clients. If your appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the following Fee Schedule and/or gift card will be void. If you do not show up for your appointment you will be charged the full fee for service booked.

*** SICK CANCELLATION POLICY WITH LESS THEN 24 HOURS NOTICE **** We kindly ask that you inform as soon as you feel unwell, ideally with 24 hours notice so we can cancel your appointment and fill the spot. With less than 24 hours notice we now have a sick fee schedule, which I think you will find is fair.
Please email us and discretion will be used depending on the circumstances. This policy is new due to an overwhelming increase in late sick cancellations. Missed appointments with no notice will still be subject to full fee of service booked.

ARRIVING LATE: We will do our best to give you as much of the time that you have booked but the charge will be for the amount of time that you booked in for even if you show up late.
Please contact us by email to cancel your appointment as this is monitored at all times. If you don't have access to email please call us at 613.241.4434. To avoid you having to pay fees for late/sick cancellations note we will do our best to fill your spot with another client whenever possible. Please note this will be at our discretion.
While we understand that "life does happen" and sometimes appointments are forgotten, there is crazy traffic or that meeting comes up, you must understand we suffer income loss due to missed appointments and/or last minute cancellations. We remind clients of their appointments by first sending a confirmation email upon booking followed by a reminder email two days ahead of the scheduled appointment and lastly a text message two hours before your set time (if you have provided a mobile number).
Please be advised missed/late/sick cancellation fees can't be billed to insurance companies.
Your card on file will be charged for the fee owing.
Gift Card Policy Insurance companies do not reimburse for treatments paid by gift card. The receipt you receive for a massage paid by a gift card will read; "gift card redeemed" as per policy by our college. For more from the CMTO click here.

We do not accept cash and we do not keep a float on site to make change.
We only accept e-transfer, debit and credit cards.

Jeannie Mundle
RMT/Owner
Jeannie graduated in 2001 with an honours diploma from ICT Northumberland College School of Massage Therapy in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
With over 22 years of experience, her therapeutic approach revolves entirely around client centered care. She is sought out and respected for her ability to help her clients find relief from pain, recover from injury and relax from the daily grind. Jeannie draws on her considerable expertise to customize each session for individual client needs.
When not in the clinic she focuses on her art, which you can find at jeanniemundlart.ca , her self care with yoga, tennis and has a passion for plant based eating. She cherishes spending time with her family, her dog Sawyer (who is often featured on social media) and of course friends.

Mariah Fisher
RMT
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Mariah brings compassion and east coast hospitality to each treatment. She graduated from the D’Arcy Lane Institute in 2016 with a diploma in Equine Massage Therapy, and from triOS College in 2019 with a diploma in Massage Therapy. Her treatments include deep tissue massage, vacuum cupping, active release, passive stretching, myofascial release, and relaxation massage.
Prior to your hands on time, Mariah likes to do a thorough intake, but once treatment has started, conversation is kept to a minimum. Treatment style and pressure is based on individual needs, and client comfort is of utmost importance. All bodies are welcome and accepted!
Mariah is passionate about education, and loves helping clients achieve their goals, whether that is pain free movement, recovering from injury, or reduction of stress and tension.
On her off time Mariah loves being outdoors, gardening, reading, and playing games. Mariah is an avid softball player, and enjoys riding horses as well as spending time with her two dogs.
